Queenswood Centre provides a place for adults to come together for directed retreats, times of silence, reflection and prayer. Some groups have their own leader or director, while others arrange for direction with one of our staff. Groups also come to Queenswood Centre for day-long, morning, afternoon or evening meetings, weekend workshops and seminars. Groups meet in various areas of the Centre, depending on size and requirements. There is an elevator to the upper floor. Tables, flip charts, and audio-visual equipment, including power point, overhead projector and VCR/DVD/CD players, are available. We are set-up for wireless internet access.
MEETING FACILITIES
Marguerite Lounge is a spacious multipurpose room on the upper floor with large windows and a small sun deck. Carpeted 40' X 40' area allows for a total capacity of approximately 70 people.
Conference Rooms 1 & 2 are on the main floor with large windows and built in blackboards. Carpeted 22' X 20' area allows for a total capacity of approximately 20-25 people per room.
Conference Room 3 is on the upper floor with large windows and a built in blackboard. Uncarpeted 27' X 20' area allows for a total capacity of approximately 25-30 people.
Ecumenical Chapel is a multi-purpose space that seats up to 200 people on padded chairs. A carpeted meditation area can be located to one side. The chapel is available to rent for workshops, meetings, weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
The chapel continues to be used by Queenswood Centre for religious services and meditations on an on-going basis.
Food Service is available for breakfast, lunch, supper and refreshment breaks. Meals are cafeteria style in the dining room that and seats up to 70 people. A separate smaller dining area is available for silent retreatants.
Accommodation for overnight guests is provided in the bedroom wings. Each bedroom has a single bed , a desk and chair, and easy chair, a sink and ample closet space. Four of these bedrooms have twin beds. Washrooms are located centrally. In addition there are three ensuites (bedroom with bathroom), two on the main floor and one on the upper.
