John Dear is a Jesuit Priest, Peace Activist, Organizer, Lecturer, Retreat leader, and author/editor of 20 books on peace and nonviolence, including Living Peace and Jesus the Rebel.
A longtime practitioner and teacher of nonviolence, his work has taken him to El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Haiti; from the Middle East to the Philippines, Northern Ireland and Iraq.
He was jailed with Philip Berrigan and worked with Mother Theresa.
